Cougars sign Dominic Thomas for 2026-27
The Clackamas Cougars landed a major recruit with the signing of Dominic Thomas out of Orting High School. Thomas is regarded as one of the top pound-for-pound wrestlers in the state of Washington and brings an impressive résumé to Cougar Nation.
Thomas was a 4x Washington State placer, 4x State finalist, and 2x State Champion. He captured state titles during his freshman and sophomore seasons before finishing as a state runner-up in both his junior and senior years.
"We look forward to having Dom in our facilities next season. He has all the intangibles to be great as a student-athlete. I remember watching his matches and telling my coaching staff that we needed to get this kid. His career here at Clackamas can be very special," said Sanchez. "His character fits perfectly with our culture."
"I chose Clackamas because the coaches really moved me with their personality — just great people to be around. I believe the coaches can improve my Wrestlings to a higher level, fill the gaps in my wrestling, and help me compete at the highest level," said Thomas.
"What I'm most excited about being a Clackamas Cougar is learning what it truly means to be COE over the next 1–2 years."
Thomas is projected to compete at 141 pounds for the Cougars and plans to pursue studies in Mechanical Engineering or the Business field while attending Clackamas.
