Cougar Wrestling Goes 3-0 Over The Weekend

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho- After what seems like an eternity the Clackamas Community College wrestling team got back on the mats for the second time this season this past weekend at North Idaho College. With testing, strict protocols and no fans the two time defending National Champions got back to work and have been impressive thus far with limited practice. Clackamas has started the year 4-0 against some tough competition and looks to stay sharp as they approach the NJCAA National Championships in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  "The guys have done a good job of staying focused and controlling the things we have control over: studying, diet, sleep and training. We don't get to make the macro decisions and right now we are all just so thrilled and grateful to be able to do what we love no matter how many hoops we need to get through, said 15 year head coach, Josh Rhoden.

The team has looked solid thus far throughout plenty of uncertainty with two convincing wins against West Region foe #11 North Idaho College, a win against Northwest College (Wyoming) and a huge win against #2 Western Wyoming this past weekend.  The schedule is pretty limited moving forward but the Clackamas squad most certainly has April 21-22 on the schedule as the NJCAA hosts the National Championship where the Cougs have enjoyed some very good success as of late.

The NJCAA has made it optional as to whether conferences host a region championship or not and our conference has decided that we will avoid that risk altogether and continue to train for the national championship as our singular post season event.  The opportunity to follow along at the National Championships or to get answer to questions surrounding the event please refer to the link below.
