Bio
Coach Hieb enters his second year coaching javelin at Clackamas with a total of 32 years of coaching experience where he previously coached at Willsonville High School (15 years) and Lakeridge High School (15 years), respectively. Mike is the former Clackamas CC school record holder with a personal best of 230'7" in the javelin. He has coached 51 state qualifiers, 28 district champions, and 11 state champions. Last season he coached Hayden Williams-Downing to 165’7” who won the Nike Outdoor Nationals and American JavFest and has also coached a high school boy to 214’ 9”. His athletes have received scholarships to and competed for prestigious universities such as Duke, Cornell, Arizona State, North Carolina, Cal, New Mexico State, Marquette, Washington State, Weber State, and Oregon. He is also a USA Track & Field Level 2 Certified Coach.
