Clackamas Community College Mourns the Passing of Hall of Fame Coach Royce Kiser
Celebration of Life Scheduled for July 12 in Randall Hall
OREGON CITY, OR — June 24, 2025 — Clackamas Community College is deeply saddened to share the passing of longtime men’s basketball coach and NWAC Hall of Fame inductee Royce Lynn Kiser, who died peacefully on June 14, 2025, in Gilbert, Arizona. He was 82.
Coach Kiser was a cornerstone of CCC athletics for over two decades, leading the Cougars to two NWAC championships (1987 and 1994) and earning multiple Coach of the Year honors. Known for his intense competitiveness and unwavering integrity, Kiser left a legacy far beyond the win column—shaping generations of student-athletes with values of discipline, teamwork, and grit.
A Celebration of Life for Coach Kiser will be held on
Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM
in Randall Hall Gymnasium on the Clackamas Community College campus.
All are welcome to attend. Casual attire is encouraged—come as you are to remember and celebrate a coach, mentor, and friend.
Kiser began his coaching career at age 22 and led programs across Oregon—including Powers, Waldport, Tillamook, Tigard, and the University of Portland—before finding his home at Clackamas. In 2002, he was inducted into the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) Hall of Fame. In 2010, Royce was inducted into the inaugural Clackamas Community College Athletics Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia Kiser, along with his children, grandchildren, and extended family. His leadership and influence will live on in the lives he touched—on and off the court.
